SUICIDE GIRLS

A new vision of female beauty, a new concept of sensuality that breaks away from all the traditional rules: this is Suicide Girls. They've been copied and some even tried to "clone" them, but the Suicide Girls have opened a door on a world that was burning under the ashes and was just waiting to come to light. The website, their most important promotion tool, was opened in 2001 and since then the Suicide Girls phenomenon hasn't stopped. It has become a reference point for gathering information and spreading alternative beauty standards that move beyond the typical clichés and mainstream ideas. Tattooed girls, with piercings, goth, punk and alternative, who are not afraid of showing their beauty the way it is, just natural, and even discovering they can be more attractive and intriguing than the traditional top models. Created by Sean Suhl and Selena Mooney (who took inspiration from the story Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk for the name), the Suicide Girls website has quickly become a real virtual community able to spread and promote their ideas and set new female beauty standards that go beyond any pre-prepared fashion trend. "The girls next door of the new millennium" - as some defined them - or icons of modern fetish? To find out just go meet them at their booth during the convention, take photos and buy some of their cool merchandising.
