LONDON CONVENTION
The extraordinary success of the 2005 London Tattoo Convention - the first to be held in the Capital - placed London in a central position in the tattoo world. The 15,000 visitors in three days and the over 60 TV and newspaper crews in Brick Lane send a very clear message on the extent of the event which will be even better and more enthralling this year. It couldn't be otherwise, considering that London is the cultural engine of Europe, the center around which fashion trends revolve. The city that absorbs all international artistic movements and hands them back to the world with new energies. The idea of organizing a tattoo convention in London stems from the desire to pay a tribute to the great British tattoo art tradition. This tradition contributed to spread this art all over Europe pulling it out of the dark Middle Ages. Tattoo was imported from Polynesia by explorers and sailors, and was first accepted in Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland where it was considered an ancient art form, able to attract people of all ages and social backgrounds, thus soon becoming the social symbol and identification mark for very old institutions and bodies such as the Scottish Guard and the Royal Navy. The best tattoo artists in the world and a series of additional events will make this 2007 edition a hit. The organizers decided to repeat the experience and actually they had no other choice considering the enthusiasm showed by tattoo fans during last year's convention. There will be about 150 artists representing all the tattoo styles ticking away with their machines in an exciting atmosphere, where light-shows and music will become an integral part of the event, mingling with the artistic expressions of the artists at work. A convention that will be both a sort of art gallery and community festival. The location chosen for the 2006 edition is still the Old Truman Brewery, a charming building of the 700's (it was built in 1724) in Brick Lane, in the East End of London. The booths will be located on the three floors of the building which are very easy to access.

| TATTOOS ARE POPULAR AND THEY STAND OUT |
|
Tattoos are a passion for some and an art for others, for most people a very popular fashion trend, which exploded a few years ago and have become a part of the collective imaginary thanks to advertisements, fashion and music bands which use tattoo icons for messages that underline the freedom of choice of each individual.
A tattoo convention is an event that draws lots of and different visitors, something very few other similar events can boast. Many love tattoos and travel around the world to take part in tattoo conventions, because it is a time in which this art is experienced on one’s own skin and, it is difficult not to be affected by the unique atmosphere that makes tattoos a very familiar and easy form of body art for everybody.
Over 150 tattoo artists will take part in the convention, all invited by the organizers because they have been chosen as representatives and masters of the numerous styles that form the multi-sided contemporary tattoo panorama. Real talents, who create works of art on the skin that are difficult to imagine and simply perfect.
Tattoo Life, leading magazine of the sector present in over 48 countries and in 6 different languages, organizer of the event, will aim at proposing a new way of "holding conventions" with a series of collateral events that will just be added to the living art shown by the artists.
Besides taking advantage of the convention to get a tattoo from a great artist, the organizers were very attentive to the entertainment of all those who chose to spend three days in the tattoo scenario. International DJs will propose incredible contemporary music, surrounded by an incredible light show; freak shows will be held on stage along with artistic exhibitions projected on a maxi screen which will show what is happening around the three pavilions of the Old Truman Brewery.
Tattoos will stand out not only on skin but also on canvases, paper and photos, through an exhibition able to give an enhanced artistic value to the exhibition.
